Mode of action: 
Systemic herbicide, rapidly taken up by the roots and foliage, translocates throughout the plant and rapidly convert to diketonitrile (DKN), which is an inhibitor of the enzyme p-hydroxy phenyl pyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD). 

Application:  
Control of more than 40 broadleaf and grass weeds. Applicable crops include maize, sugarcane, chickpeas, cotton, ornamentals, potatoes, sweet potatoes. Optimum activity is obtained when it is applied in moist conditions. Isoxaflutole applied pre-plant may provide 8-10 weeks residual action. Besides, a unique ‘recharge’ effect has been demonstrated in field trials that its activity against weeds can be re-induced following rainfall. Because of the unique mode of action, Isoxaflutole can also play a role in the management of triazine resistant weed species.
