Mode of action:
Non-systemic foliar fungicide with protective action.
Chlorothalonil is a broad-spectrum organochlorine pesticide (fungicide) used to control fungi that threaten vegetables, trees, small fruits, turf, ornamentals, and other agricultural crops. It also controls fruit rots in cranberry bogs, and is used in paints.
Chlorothalonil reduces fungal intracellular glutathione molecules to alternate forms which cannot participate in essential enzymatic reactions, ultimately leading to cell death, similar to the mechanism of trichloromethyl sulfenyl.

Control of many fungal diseases in a wide range of crops, including pome fruit, stone fruit, citrus fruit, bush and cane fruit, cranberries, strawberries, pawpaws, bananas, mangoes, coconut palms, oil palms, rubber, pepper, vines, hops, vegetables, cucurbits, tobacco, coffee, tea, rice, soya beans, peanuts, potatoes, sugar beet, cotton, maize, ornamentals, mushrooms, and turf. Application rates for food crops are 1-2.5 kg/ha.
Wheat scab, with 75% wettable powder 11.3g/100m2, spray 6kg of water; vegetable disease (tobacco early blight, late blight, leaf mold, spot blight, melon downy mildew, anthracnose) 75% wettable powder 135 ~ 150g, spray 60 ~ 80kg of water; fruit tree downy mildew, powdery mildew, spray 75 ~ 100g with 75% wettable powder 30 ~ 40kg; in addition to peach rot, scab , tea anthracnose, tea cake disease, net cake disease, peanut leaf spot disease, rubber canker disease, cabbage downy mildew, black spot disease, grape anthracnose, potato late blight, eggplant gray mold, orange sore disease.
