Azoxystrobin

Common name: Azoxystrobin(CAS NO: 131860-33-8)

IUPAC name: Methyl (2E)-2-(2-{[6-(2-cyanophenoxy)pyrimidin-4-yl]oxy}phenyl)-3-methoxyacrylate

Chemical Abstracts name: Methyl (αE)-2-[[6-(2-cyanophenoxy)-4-pyrimidinyl]oxy]-α-(methoxymethylene)benzeneacetate

CAS No: 131860-33-8

Mode of action:
Systemic broad-spectrum fungicide, with preventative, curative and translaminar properties and lasting residual activity. It can inhibit the mycelial growth and spore germination, thus block the energy production. As it is particularly effective at the early stages of fungal development, so it is an excellent preventative fungicide.

Azoxystrobin is a systemic fungicide, active against Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, Deuteromycetes and Oomycetes. It has preventative, curative and translaminar properties and residual activity lasting for up to eight weeks on cereals. The product demonstrates slow, steady foliar uptake and moves only in the xylem. Azoxystrobin inhibits mycelial growth and also has anti-sporulant activity. It is particularly effective at the early stages of fungal development (especially at spore germination) due to its inhibition of energy production. The product is classified as a Group K fungicide.

Application:
Azoxystrobin is active against Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, Deuteromycetes and Oomycetes. Control of leaf spots, powdery mildew, rusts and mold over more than 100 crops including cereals, vegetables, fruites, ornamentals and some field crops. For example, mango anthracnose, cucumber downy mildew, rose powdery mildew, citrus scab and so on.
Do not use Azoxystrobin on apple cultivars with a genetic background which includes MacIntosh as they are extremely sensitive to Azoxystron and may cause phytotoxicity if used. And as it belongs to strobilurin fungicide and this family have only one, specific biochemical site, it may result in fungicide-resistant strain. So it is suggested that Azoxystrobin tank mixed with other kind of fungicide or used acrossly.

Prevention and control of gray mold caused by cucumber tomato, etc. Before or after the onset, use 40% of pyrimethanil 25-95g per acre, 800-1200 times of water, 30-75kg of water per mu, large plant, high drug volume and high water content; Small, low dose and low water volume, used once every 7-10 days, sharing 2-3 times. It takes more than 4 times to control a growing season, and should be rotated with other fungicides to avoid resistance. Open field medicine should be selected in the morning and evening, the wind is small, low temperature.

It is used to control cucumber, tomato, grape, strawberry, pea, leeks, and other crops such as gray mold, blight, fruit black star disease, and spotted leaf disease.
